Coach Nalan is 53 yrs. old. He was born September 16, 1959 in Paris, France. Coach Nalan also is the full time dairy manager at the Iowa Falls HY-VEE. He is married to wife Diane. They have two children Jamey and wife Amy of Des Moines, Ia. Jessica and fiance Chris Vestal of Iowa Falls, Ia. They also have three grandchildren Emily and Micah Nalan, Beau Vestal.
Assistant Strength Coach
Coach Foster is entering his third season as defensive line coach at Ellsworth Community College. He was an assistant coach at ECC during the 2014-15 season and then completed a stint at Division II Southwest Minnesota State coaching outside linebackers in 2015 before rejoining ECC in 2016.
Foster graduated from Winona State University, where he played outside linebacker. Coach Foster also played one year at Ellsworth as a running back in 2008, when he was part of a Graphic Edge bowl victory with the Panthers.
Matt St. Germain
Defensive Coordinator / Linebackers
Coach Matt St. Germain is the Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers Coach of the Ellsworth Community College Panthers. Coach St. Germain comes to Ellsworth after four seasons at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Prior coaching stints include Truman State University, Stonehill College, University of LaVerne, Saint Joseph’s College and Western Illinois University.
St. Germain was a graduate of the University of Iowa, where he spent four seasons on the defensive line. He completed his graduate work at Western Illinois University while assisting on the defensive side of the ball for the Leathernecks.
Coach St. Germain and his wife, Erin, have one son, Keaton.
Coach Adam Dutcher enters his first season as the Offensive Line Coach of the Ellsworth Community College Panthers. Coach Dutcher comes to the Panthers after three years at McPherson College, an NAIA football program in McPherson, KS. Dutcher served as Run Game Coordinator/Recruiting Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach at McPherson.
Prior to his stint at McPherson, Coach Dutcher served as defensive student assistant at Grand View University in Des Moines, IA. In 2008 he was the sophomore offensive line coach at Southeast Polk High school in Pleasant Hill, IA.
Dutcher graduated from Grand View University in December of 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health Promotion Fitness Management. He was a two year All-Conference selection offensive lineman and two-year captain for Grand View. Prior to Grand View, Dutcher attended Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, IA, from 2006-2007, where he earned a First Team All-Region selection as a sophomore offensive lineman.
Coach Dutcher is originally from Altoona, IA, and graduated from Southeast Polk High School in 2006.
Defensive Backs Coach/Recruiting Coordinator
Don Jones is in his first year as Defensive Backs coach and Recruiting Coordinator for Ellsworth Community College. In 2016, under the guidance of Coach Jones, the ECC secondary averaged 166.4 yards passing yards per game with 10 interceptions and 23 pass break ups. In addition to winning the Graphic Edge Bowl game, season highlights include the naming of two 2nd Team All-Conference Defensive Backs (Elijah Jones and Devon Russell) and one Honorable Mention (Javonte Arius). Devon Russell was recruited and signed with the University of Buffalo as a corner.
In 2015, Jones worked as the Offensive Quality Control coach for Dartmouth College, which won the 2015 Ivy League championship. Prior to that, Jones worked as the Corners coach for Delaware State University. In 2014, the corners at Delaware State were credited with 16 pass break ups, 3 interceptions, and having the sixth leading tackler on the team. Jones helped to improve the secondary in his two seasons. Delaware State averaged 207.6 passing yards per game in 2013 and 170.8 passing yards per game in 2014 under his direction.
Before joining the Delaware State staff, Jones was the Defensive Line coach at Westfield State University, MA, during the 2012 season, where he coached All-New England Football Conference First Team Defensive End Chris Walker.
In 2011, Jones was the Running Backs coach at American International College in Massachusetts. The Yellow jackets posted a 6-4 record during the '11 campaign.
During the 2009 and 2010 seasons, Jones was Defensive Coordinator/Defensive Backs at Springfield, MA, Central High School. Under Coach Jones’s guidance, Springfield Central produced six All-Western Massachusetts and six all-conference defensive players during his tenure.
Jones has also served on the coaching staffs at E.E. Waddell High School (RB/DB), where he produced an All Mecklenburg kickoff returner, and Harding University High School (DL), where he produced the Queen City Defensive Player of the Year.
During his football playing career, Jones rushed 3,000 yards at Westfield State from 2001 to '05. He was a member of the Owls' 2001 conference championship team and earned all-conference honorable mention in 2003. He is a 2005 Westfield State graduate, with a degree in Political Science. He also earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2009.
A native of Springfield, MA, Don has two children, Rebecka and Donovan Jones.
